KMD: Heavy Rainfall Expected Over Most Parts of Kenya

Heavy rainfall is expected to continue over most parts of the country in the next seven days, according to the Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) weekly weather prediction.
As a result, poorly drained and low-lying areas could experience continuous flooding.
KMD says that in The Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, and the Rift Valley, morning rains are expected over a few places.
Afternoon showers and thunderstorms are likely to occur over several places occasionally spreading to most places. Night showers are expected over several places.
Counties in this region include Kisii, Nyamira, Nandi, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay, Busia, Migori, Narok, Baringo, Nakuru, Trans-Nzoia, Uasin-Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, and West-Pokot.
KMD reports that in North-western Kenya, that is Turkana and Samburu counties, morning rains are expected over a few places occasionally spreading to several places. Afternoon as well as night showers and thunderstorms are expected over a few places occasionally spreading to several places.
The Highlands East of the Rift Valley (including Nairobi County) are likely to experience morning rains over a few places with afternoon and night showers expected over several places.
Moreover, morning rains are expected over a few places, and afternoon and night showers are expected over a few places occasionally spreading to several places in Northeastern Kenya and the Southeastern lowlands.
At the Coast, morning, afternoon and night showers are likely to occur over a few places occasionally spreading to several places.
