By Joyce Ojanji
Rainfall is expected over several parts of the country including the Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, the Central and South Rift Valley, the Highlands East of the Rift Valley, the Coast, and North-eastern Kenya, according to the Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD).
The weather department says that the Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, and the Central and South Rift Valley are likely to have sunny mornings with afternoon showers and thunderstorms over some places. However, some places are also likely to experience night showers.
In the North-western region of Kenya, days are expected to be generally sunny and nights partly cloudy, but, some night showers may occur over a few places during the first half of the forecast period (1st– 7th, November).
Cloudiness, at times accompanied by rains, is expected in the morning giving way to sunny intervals whereas afternoon and night showers are also likely to occur over a few places in the Highlands East of the Rift Valley (including Nairobi County).
Additionally, in North-eastern Kenya, morning rains as well as afternoon and night showers are expected over a few places.
According to KMD, in the South-eastern lowlands, mornings are likely to be generally sunny though rains may occur over a few places. Occasional afternoon and night showers are also likely to occur over a few places.
At the Coast, morning and early afternoon showers are expected over a few places while nights are likely to be generally partly cloudy.
Comparing the previous review (17th – 23rd October 2022) to the current review period (24th – 30th October 2022), it is noted that daytime (maximum) temperatures increased over most parts of the country while night-time (minimum) temperatures also increased over most areas.
